Stump School

STUMP School
Located in Section #27, District #35, the school was also known as School 27 and was fairly assuredly on land given by John Thomas Stump (born 8 May 1820 Boone Co KY and died in Montgomery County 18 July 1903 - buried Weir Cemetery) - he had a family of 12 children and likely wanted them and his grandchildren to have a good education. In 1909-1910 the only teacher was Bina M. Thompson for all 8 grades.
